Philz Coffee New Headquarter
Philz Coffee has shifted its main office from San Francisco to Oakland, according to CEO Mahesh Sadarangani’s statement. The previous headquarters were in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. Founded over 20 years ago in San Francisco’s Mission District, Philz Coffee’s new Oakland headquarters will be at the company’s roasting facility.
Sadarangani explained the move was necessary due to the outdated lease on the San Francisco building and the majority of Philz’s corporate team working remotely. Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao is thrilled about the move, emphasizing the significance of Philz Coffee choosing Oakland as its new home.
The relocation follows the closure of Philz’s original shop in San Francisco’s Mission District last October. Since its inception in 2003, Philz’s has expanded to numerous locations across California, including Sacramento, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties, with six locations in the Chicago area.
Sadarangani expressed the company’s commitment to being a community part and maintaining a strong presence in the Bay Area.
