Starbucks doubling stores in India by 2028 

The global coffee giant aims to open one new store every three days. 

Focus on tier-2 and tier-3 cities for expansion. 

Expansion includes drive-thrus, airports, and 24-hour cafes. 

Indian workforce expected to double to 8,600 employees. 

Coffee consumption rising in India's growing middle class. 

Starbucks CEO sees India as one of the company's fastest-growing markets. 

The company has operated in India since 2012 through a joint venture with Tata Consumer Products. 

Starbucks currently has 390 stores across 54 cities in India. 

The target of 1,000 stores would make India a major overseas market for Starbucks.
